Where do I install this screen door, Sir?
Thanks to Derek for pointing out that all the submarines produced since the start of the game have had an experience level of "Untrained". The problem is fixed for all new subs from now on, but its too late for the poor guys wandering around the ocean now.
Bomber Target Selector Fixed
Fixed an indexing problem with the icons in the bomber target selector. When I increased the size of the icon table, I forgot to change the offset in the bomber target selector tree control. Its fixed and the unit icons are drawn again.

Combat Update
When a unit is destroyed, any pending sales of that unit are now canceled. We would occasionally get pending trades on "Free Unit Record".
Dead Generals
I have updated the game mail messages to show when a unit commander is killed in battle.

Combat Update
Fixed a problem where 'zero loss' battles would sometimes show in e-mail. If a battle produces no losses to either side, it no longer generates an e-mail message.

Name Generator Almost Done
The name generator and culture record are pretty much done. In the next game each unit should have a commander's name attached to it.
Most of the names will be fictional, provided by the name generator. In some cases where I have been able to find the actual name of the commander, I have added the commander's name to the unit in the scenario file. For example, all of the German U-Boats will have the actual historical commander listed.

The Pentagon's New Map
Some people play Global Superpowers with real nations:

A Historical Footnote
This amazes me.
Like a fly in amber, my old Atari game "Battle for the Throne", is preserved for all time.

Server Update
Added the time and date connected to the server's player connected message.
Added a "Conquered" attribute to the region information to store when a region changed hands and who had it previously.
Continued to work on the name generator.
My intruder never came back.

I got my first intruder.
One of the signs your game has "Made It" is that you start to attract intruders. One of the players in the current game is not who I thought he was. I still don't know who it is, but I intend to find out...
I have not given out the link to this blog to any of my players yet. :-)

Combat Update
Fixed a problem in Antisubmarine Warfare where sometimes the submarines would be the attacker and the attacking ships would be the defender. This would often result in a zero-loss battle that would get canceled. I adjusted the code so that it makes sure that the side with the submarines is always marked as the defender in an ASW battle.

Logistics Message Updated
This morning I updated the server to send a logistics message even when all units are in supply. Previously, the message only went out when the player ran out of something. I also adjusted some of the text to be more accurate.
The Game Developers Blog Starts
This is going to be a record of the changes and the continuing development of my Global Superpowers game.
